Spotify is the largest music and podcast streaming application in the entire world. It has millions of artists making music on it including the biggest names in the world. It is available in many parts of the world.
Spotify Records Data
Like all other applications that are made for the public, Spotify records the data of the users. It saves all the songs, podcasts, or anything that you have on your Spotify. Your song history and search history are also recorded.
Spotify uses all this data to personalize playlists for you according to the type of content that you have been streaming. For example, the more plays you have for an artist the more songs you will recommend by them.
Many people don’t prefer the recorded data which provides them with Spotify’s personalized albums so they have the question that how to delete recently played on Spotify? So that they can avoid the customized playlists. Some people do this because they want to refresh their entire feed so that they don’t get recommended their usual streams and listen to new tracks
Deleting Recently Played on Spotify
Fortunately deleting the recently played songs from Spotify is a very easy task if you are using it on a computer. By following the below-mentioned steps you can do that:
- Open your computer whether it’s a Mac or Windows device and turn on the Spotify application
- There will be a menu on the left side of your screen with various options
- Locate the recently played tab in the options and click on it
- It will show you all the playlists, songs, or podcasts that you have recently streamed
- Using your mouse click on the three dots located on the right side of the cover of the song
- Click on the remove from recently played from there.
- Repeat the above steps for all podcasts, albums, or songs
However, this is to be noted the procedure can only be done using the Spotify application running on your computer. For mobile, no matter it’s an android or IOS device, this cannot be done. The option used to be present on the mobile application as well but was recently removed by Spotify for some reason.
Another point to be noted here is that even if you remove the recently played on the computer and expect to see it removed on your mobile device as well then this does not happen as they both work differently
So, Spotify for mobile devices and computer devices both have different user data according to the device that you are using. However, the liked songs and your playlists will remain the same on both devices the only difference will be the played songs and the history of them.
By following the above-mentioned steps you can completely remove your recently played streams and enjoy your Spotify account the way you want it to be.
